AFFORDABLE, LONG-LASTING & GORGEOUS MAKEUP
I wouldn’t say that I’m a makeup expert by any means, but I’ve definitely tried out a bunch of beauty products in my lifetime, and I finally feel like I’ve found a great bunch of products that are the best I have ever used. In this post you’ll find a complete collection of the makeup I use for my face, eyes, and lips. I’ve included all of the prices & what I use each product for. Everything I use is affordable, long-lasting, and gorgeous–which is why they are all number one in my heart. <3
Do you use any of these products or have a favorite that I haven’t included?
I have tried a BUNCH of BB Creams, both drug-store level and higher-end. This Loreal BB Cream is by far the BEST one I have used. I used to use Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer (and before that Bobbi Brown’s), but this is like a whole new level of sheerness, wearability, and coverage. I highly recommend this product–especially because it is so affordable! (The only catch is that it doesn’t have SPF, so make sure to add some of your own!)
If you have never used an illuminator before, you should definitely start out with this Nars one. I use the shade “Copacabana” and I dab a tiny tiny bit under the arch of my eyebrows, the bridge of my nose, and the tops of my cheek bones. It adds a subtle luminescence to your skin and highlights the areas you want to stand out.
GET A CHEEK GEL to use as blush. I cannot recommend it enough–it’s a whole new world, I’m telling you.
I’ve used Hoola BRONZER since I was like 14 years old. It’s amazing–enough said.
After poking myself in the eye for two years in middle school using an eye pencil liner, I graduated to gel liner and have never turned back. Bobbi Brown’s lasts FOREVER, is easy to put on, and comes in tons of different colors (I have back and dark blue).
I’m not really married to any one type of mascara, and actually, mascaras tend to really piss me off. If I think I’ve finally found a good one, it goes dry and clumpy in the bottle after like a month and I have to throw it away. I’ve been using the Lash Blast Volumizer for about a couple months now and it’s been great, but I tend to also use the little sample mascaras I get from makeup counters because they work well enough and by the time they get dry and clumpy I’ve already finished the little bottle.
UNDER EYE BRIGHTENER/CONCEALER
I’m obsessed with under eye products (as you can see). I usually start out using the Fresh concealer and the Fresh Brightener, and then top it off with Dermalogica’s Total Eye Care. This is my favorite product and I actually got it from my dermatologist about 8 years ago and have used it ever since. It creates a great brightness under your eyes that can conceal any dark circles and/or puffiness.
Do NOT get me started on how obsessed I am with Too Faced La Creme Lipstick. It was my first lipstick ever (I resisted a while because I thought it meant I was old). Once I thought I drunkenly left it at a bar, panicked the next day and tried to order a new one right away, but found that the color I wanted was sold out EVERYWHERE. I ended up finding some random online store that had three left and I obviously ordered all three. I later found my lipstick in the bottom of my purse. Whateva, I don’t hate it.
Fresh Lip Balm dependence should be added to the DSM. I’m like literally addicted to this stuff. It is a little pricey considering it can go really fast, so be careful if you try this deliciously soft product because you will never be able to use another lip balm again.
After I found my true love, Too Faced La Creme Lipstick, I mostly just wear lipstick instead of lip gloss. However, when I do feel like adding a little somethin’ somethin’, I use Lara Mercier’s gloss. It’s smooth, smells good, and lasts a while without getting sticky.
