If you’ve read my post on ombré, you know that I am all for it. I listed out all the reasons why ombré rocks and included a slideshow of my favorite styles.
Well, I had never dyed my hair before and I was just totally freaked out to do it, but I wanted to do ombré so badly that I finally went to get it done on an impulse. I told my hairdresser that I wanted something very subtle and gold-toned–no bleaching or blond. I came out of the salon feeling totally relieved…I LOVED it. My hairdresser did an amazing job.
Now that I’ve taken the baby step of actually dyeing my hair, I kind of wanted to make it a little bit more dramatic. However, when I was taking pictures for the last Stalk My Style post, I was surprised by how well you could see the ombré in the pictures, and since then I think I’ve decided to keep it as is. I like it looking more natural and subtle, then it looking like “HEY EVERYBODY I DYED MY HAIR,” which is just not my personality. Like actually, I’m just not cool enough to pull that off.
Anyways, I’ve included some pictures of my hair post-ombré, and I hope this gives you a good idea of how you can go about doing ombré in a subtle way, especially if you are a baby about dyeing your hair, like me.
P.S. These pictures were taken about two months after dyeing my hair.

Looks great! I have the same problem – I have never dyed my hair and I have no idea if it will turn out great. I guess it really depends on the haidresser to really understand what you want. There’s this new hair dye by Loreal especially for ombre hair.
Thanks! You should definitely try it…I am SO glad I did it…and I was literally sitting in the chair at the salon about to have a panic attack before I got it done. Definitely make sure you trust your hairdresser and bring in multiple pictures of what you want! I need to check out this Loreal hair dye..
