I feel like I’ve been waiting for something like this since I first saw Cher’s closet in the movie Clueless…needless to say I’ve had to wait a while, but it’s been well worth it.
If you know my style already, you know I’m the queen of basics. Even though I’m a “fashion blogger,” I still love reusing the same items I already own over and over because guess what? It saves money, and there’s endless combinations–most of which I never even think of.
That’s where FINERY comes in. This free personal styling app (there’s a desktop version too!) makes my job of coming up with new outfits for you guys even easier. First of all, it lets me actually SEE all of my clothing in one place. It’s literally an online wardrobe…and it’s better than my real one! I always forget I own certain items because they are either a victim of the three-tops-one-hanger scenario or are hiding in a heap on my closet floor.
This week I used Finery to plan four casual everyday outfits for you guys inspired by all the Fall back-to-school vibes. To show you just how easy it is to create different looks with Finery using clothes you already own, I put together four totally different outfits wearing the same pair of jeans (my favorites!). It literally took me all of 5 minutes to plan a week’s worth of outfits…and it made me realize that I never need to go shopping again. How does this magic happen?
Well, Finery uploads all the clothing you’ve ever purchased online automagically after you sync your email to the app, and lets you easily create looks using all the items in your closet. Once everything is uploaded, you can view your entire wardrobe by category and even see inspiration for EVERY SINGLE ITEM.
This is the best part of the app because it’s so much easier to get inspiration and create cool outfits when you can literally SEE everything you own in front of you. Plus, it’s a lot faster than going through your closet, trying things on or laying them out on the bed to see if they look good together.
Not a huge online shopper? Don’t worry–Even if you do some of your shopping in stores (I’m a huge fan of shopping in store at Zara, Brandy Melville, Bershka and Urban Outfitters), you can still add those items in to your virtual closet on Finery using a super easy browser plug in! All you have to do is find the item online, click a button, and voila! It’s added.
