July is finally upon us and I, for one, cannot wait to start getting creative in styling some amazing summer outfits with one piece of intimate clothing that doesn’t usually see the light of day: the bralette. I’ve noticed that in recent years, bralettes have slowly inched their way into everyday outfits in the warmer months. HOWEVER, it’s important to note that not all bralette-inclusive outfits are created equal!
It’s important to strike a balance between edgy and classy, so here are some tips for styling the perfect summer outfits with the perfect summer bralettes, featuring three bralettes I received from Kohl’s!
1. STYLE A CUTE BRALETTE UNDER A ROMPER
You know that romper or dress you love that is just a little too risqué to wear as an everyday ensemble? Well, I’ve got a super easy solution for you — pair it with a cute bralette, like this one from Kohl’s, add some sandals or flats, and voila! You’ve executed the perfect day-to-night look that you can even wear on the subway without getting catcalled.
2. STYLE A CROPPED BRALETTE WITH A HIGH-WAISTED DENIM MINI SKIRT
Looking for a creative way to spice up your crop top style? Grab a lacey cropped bralette and pair it with a high-waisted mini skirt (I personally love the denim look). Make sure the bralette isn’t too short, especially when pairing it with a mini skirt or shorts: minis and crop tops don’t go together unless you’re at a 90’s beach party.
3. STYLE A LACEY BRALETTE WITH A HIGH-WAISTED SKIRT
This is one of my favorite outfits this summer, and it’s super easy to tone down for an everyday look or dress up with a pair of wedges for a fun nightlife outfit. I wore this combo to a rooftop party in Tribeca and it was perfect for sundown cocktails and late night dancing. You really can’t go wrong with a maxi-skirt (pro tip: find one with an amazing slit like this one!).
